What is the Advanced Reader Group?
The ARC Team is a group of people who act as advisors for future projects, reviews, and branding. Team members have early (and free) access to cover designs, copies of books, promotional materials, and extra bonus content. In turn, I rely on this group to help get the word out about my novels via grassroots efforts (e.g., social media, talking to friends, recommending for book clubs, etc.).
For book clubs, please reach out to me if you would be interested in hosting a Zoom session with a Q&A. Those are always events I enjoy being a part of.
What’s in it for me?
You receive a free copy of the book, and if you send feedback at least one week before the launch day, I’ll put your name in the acknowledgments (with your permission).
What are my responsibilities as a group member?
As a member of this group, you will be given the opportunity to read my books first, usually 4-6 weeks in advance. To get first dibs on the next book, you agree to:
- Not share or distribute the book with anyone, or distribute for your own financial gain
- Post an honest, spoiler-free review to Amazon on release day
- Stretch goal (and I really hope you do), post the review to one other site (iTunes, B&N, Kobo, LibraryThing, Goodreads, Blog)
Why are you giving me this opportunity?
Reviews often define the difference between the success and failure of a book. They help other readers discover new authors and books, authors qualify for advertising and promotional opportunities, and boost books’ visibility by moving them higher on rankings and lists. Advance Reader Teams are a win-win situation for everyone. You are able to enjoy a new release at no cost, and I can gain much-needed support and enthusiasm for my latest book during the launch.
When will I get emails from you?
I will email you when I have an ARC opportunity, and with reminders to post your review. You will be put on the newsletter list as well, however, you can always unsubscribe (though those notifications are quite infrequent – monthly).
How will I get my ARC for your books?
We will be using a very reader-friendly service called StoryOrigin. We chose this service because you can get the books directly sent to your device, and they will assist you with any problems you have.
What if I hate the book and don’t want to post the review?
We encourage honest reviews. But if you did not enjoy the book, and do not want to post a review – please feel free to reach out to me with feedback (constructive or positive).
How Do I Sign Up?
Click here, and when an opportunity becomes available you’ll be offered. From there, you can accept or decline. Space will be limited for this group and only active members will receive opportunities. Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the ARC Team!
